WHEN TO KNIT

This may not be a popular opinion in Australia, but I am all for winter. Any weather where I can't throw on (even a light) knit, I don't really want 45 weeks out of the year. When it ticked over to officially being winter here I started to haul knits in preparation so I thought it was only fair they got a whole post dedicated to them.

THE CHUNKY KNIT
The chunky knit is probably my ride or die. I think my obsession started when I first laid eyes on I Love Mr Mittens. These knits are best when... worn oversized and slouchy. I personally love to pair these types of knits back with pleated midi skirts, leather minis or over a slip dress.

THE KNIT TOP
The knit top is my favourite for layering. You can find them in crop styles, turtle necks or crew necks. These knits are best when... fitted, tucked into high waisted jeans or skirts or again layered under slip dresses or camisoles. These are great when you are throwing on heaps of layers so you stay warm without bulking up.

THE STATEMENT KNIT
Let's be honest you don't need more than one in your wardrobe. But if you are wanting to spice up your knit life Anna Quan/Dion Lee/Lilya is where you need to be looking. We are talking backless knits, cut outs and voluminous sleeves. Get on it, but pair it back simply with your favourite jeans or slip.
