I am sticking to visuals for Venice. It was probably the most aesthetically pleasing 24 hours of my life so far and I feel that words wouldn't give this place justice. I also feel wrong giving any in depth suggestions for a place I spent only a day in. All I can say is - allow yourself to get lost in Venice. You won't regret it.
