I know what you're thinking, we are already a month in and you're a little late to the 2018 resolution/goals/inspirational post party. I did the 'Shit To Think About' Post last year and found it super helpful to have those questions on paper to carry through the year. (ps. I made shit to think about cards so you can think about it also) So this year I made myself a to do list.

In 2017, I paid attention to what actually brought me happiness. I realised that it wasn't what I thought. I thought getting a certain project, client, the end of a copyright battle or reaching a savings goal would make me happier but instead realised it was rather the super simple things. So I am going back to my basics this year and I think my to-do list reflects this. Incase you can't read my handwriting I have gone through the list below.

You can make your own by printing out the 2018 design and writing over it in your favourite pen.

Read a new book monthly

I have never been a big reader but it is a habit that I want to start. I finished Joan Didion's A Year Of Magical Thinking this month and I have already picked my book for next month. Let me know in the comments if you want a blog post of whats on my book shelf.

I noticed late last year that I really enjoy the ritual of caring for my plants. Getting them new soil & pots when I don't know why they are sad, watering them on a Saturday morning etc. Maybe it makes me accountable for something outside of myself?

be more vuLnerable

Talk about what you care about and worry less about how people will view you because of it.

Try out a new personal fragrance

My current favourite from Le Labo is nearly empty so I think it's the perfect time to try out something new. Leave your personal favourite below!

Dedicate more time to your site

My site is my everything and I need to start treating it that way. Let me know below if you have anything you would like to see added or written about on the blog this year.

stop worrying about living up to other's
expectations of you.

This is something I really want to work on this year. I am constantly worried if I am doing the right thing or if someone will be disappointed in me saying no to something. I will instead only be concerned with my own expectations of me.

To be honest I can be lazy when it comes to cooking, often I make something super easy because I feel like I don't have the time. This year I really want to take the time, put music on, have a recipe to go by and enjoy it more with a glass of wine.

uSe your down time to see a friend

I know I am not alone with this. Often I push myself at work so when it comes to the weekend or a day off I struggle to find the motivation to do anything. Being an introvert also means I fear I will exhaust myself further by being around people. But again I know that being home 5 days a week, working alone means I really do need to get out of the fucking house and talk to someone new.

see more of australia

After 6 countries in 6 years I think it is time we explore the country we live in. I would love to go down to Tasmania or North Queensland. I also want to take smaller getaways this year.

CONSUME LESS digital media

This is all things social as well as Pinterest and Show/Movie related.

Spend more time making your home 'yours'

I spend all my time here so this year I really want to put the effort in to make it a place I really love. Last year I moved my studio around and it made the world of a difference so I might look to other rooms this year.

What's on your to-do list for 2018? I'd love to chat more in the comments.
